Fresh wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.
As a consequence of new snow and wind dry slab avalanches are possible from midday, but they will be mostly small. These can in some places be released, even by a single winter sport participant. In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation caution is to be exercised in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Gliding avalanches are also to be expected.
Snowpack
>
Over a wide area 15 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1800 m. The snowfall will give rise from midday to increasing softening of the snowpack. In very isolated cases various wind slab layers are lying on old snow containing large grains. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for meticulous route selection.
Tendency
Significant increase in danger of dry avalanches as the snowfall becomes more intense.
