Wind-drifted snow

2000m

New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2000 m.
The new snow can be released very easily in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. Mostly Explanation: "these" may only stand for "these avalanches" are small and can be released easily in some cases by a single winter sport participant. From early morning mostly small wind slabs will form adjacent to ridgelines on west, north and east facing slopes. These can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant and reach medium size.
Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for caution and restraint.
Snowpack
>
In particular in the southern half of Aran 15 to 25 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the evening above approximately 2000 m. The southerly wind will transport the new snow. The various wind slabs have bonded generally well with each other and the old snowpack. In its middle, the snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a resilient melt-freeze crust.
Tendency
Slight increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation.
