Danger level
Avalanche Problem
Gliding snow
Wind slab
2300m
Gliding snow represents the main danger.
On very steep grassy slopes individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible as the moisture increases. This applies on sunny slopes in all altitude zones, as well as on shady slopes below approximately 2000 m. In addition in all aspects, some small moist snow slides are possible.
The fresh and older wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering especially on extremely steep, little used shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. These can still in isolated cases be released by people, but they will be small in most cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at transitions into gullies and bowls.

On Wednesday it will be cloudy. The weather will be mild.
As a consequence of mild temperatures and high relative humidity the snow drift accumulations stabilised during the last two days. These weather conditions gave rise to significant moistening of the old snowpack in all aspects in all altitude zones.
At intermediate altitudes there are 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

Tendency
Thursday: Further increase in danger of gliding avalanches and moist snow slides below approximately 2300 m. Increase in danger of dry avalanches at high altitude.
