New snow

2000m

As a consequence of new snow and wind a precarious avalanche situation will be encountered in some localities.
The new snow-covered wind slabs of yesterday can be released easily by a single winter sport participant in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 2100 m. In isolated cases the avalanches in these loacations are medium-sized.

As a consequence of the new snow snow slides and avalanches are possible at any time, but they will be mostly small. These can in many places be released by people. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in all aspects above approximately 2000 m.

Low altitudes: Gliding avalanches can also occur at any time.

Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised as well in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.
Snowpack

Above approximately 1800 m snow will fall during the night. Up to 15 cm of snow will fall. The wind will be light to moderate adjacent to ridgelines. This snow will be deposited on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 2100 m.

At intermediate altitudes there are 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
Tendency
Sunday: The danger of dry avalanches will not decrease for the time being.

Fresh wind slabs require caution.
As a consequence of the new snow snow slides and avalanches are possible at any time, but they will be mostly small. These can in many places be released by people. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. Shady slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially unfavourable.

Low altitudes: Gliding avalanches can also occur at any time.
