New snow and wind slabs represent the main danger.
The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on northwest to north to east facing aspects and above the tree line. The avalanches in these loacations are rather small, caution is to be exercised in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at the border to Ribagorça and Pallars.
The new snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in all aspects. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in extremely steep terrain at intermediate and high altitudes. Avalanches are rather small.

Snowpack
>The snowpack is favourably layered; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. The harsh wintry weather conditions will give rise to increasing consolidation of the snowpack in all aspects. At the southern and eastern borders of Aran as well as at high altitude snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
