Wet snow

Wind slabs require caution. In addition a certain danger of moist avalanches exists.
The no longer entirely fresh wind slabs of the last few days can be released easily in some places in all aspects and at high altitude. This applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and in the southeastern half of Aran. Mostly the avalanches in these regions are small. These can in isolated cases be triggered in the old snowpack and reach medium size in particular on steep, little used shady slopes. On wind-protected shady slopes dry loose snow slides are possible, but they will be mostly small.

Some small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist loose snow slides are to be expected as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Individual gliding avalanches can also occur.
Snowpack
>
Shady slopes and in places that are protected from the wind: The upper section of the snowpack is soft; its surface consists of faceted crystals.
Wind-loaded slopes: Various wind slab layers are lying on soft layers.
In its middle, the snowpack is favourably layered.
Sunny slopes: The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften during the day.

Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience and restraint.
Tendency
In some regions increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind. The danger of moist avalanches will decrease.
