Avalanche Problem
New snow

2000m

New snow represents the main danger.
In particular in steep rocky terrain and adjacent to ridgelines in all aspects individual small dry avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. Some fresh snow as well as the small wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant at intermediate and high altitudes. This applies in particular in the south and at high altitude.
Even a small avalanche can sweep people along and give rise to falls. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.
Snowpack
>
Especially at the southern border of Aran up to 10 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Saturday above approximately 2000 m. The light wind has transported some snow. Over a wide area up to 5 cm of snow will fall in the next few hours above approximately 1400 m.
Intermediate and high altitudes: The snowpack is favourably layered and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a crust.
At low altitude from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
Tendency
Slight increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of the new snow.
